An Artist's Device.
"Tourist" has recently returned from a holtday on the Continent. He sends us a little sketch — from vhich our illustration is taken —ancl says that when one day inspecting the pictures in a famous gallery, he noticed a
gentleman pro\idecl with a walking stick having a top of vide CJ -shape, which he used, in°ihe manner shown, as a support lor his head, when gazing itp at the ks of art. Later on our correspondent foiu.a a medical gentleman similarly equipped, and the latter declared that to arc students and others doing a deal of picture inspecting, this simple "head rest" was most useful, taking the strain off the neck and giving increased immunity from headrche, in vhich -si=its to galleries so frequently remit.
