BUTTERFLY BROOCHES.
— Butterfly brooches are now worn in Paris by every girl who goes in for being up-to-date in her jewellery, and there can fcCiircely be a more prtUtic cle'jit/n. Tho butterfly should be made especially foi the wearer, so that the colours and the stones may be her own paiticulav taste. A charming one of pale enamel, with rays of gold down the wings, and studded with «.mall diamonds, was made for a girl who always wore blue, and was born in Apri' ; therefore, the diamonds were Ler birthday stone. Another, equally pretty, is of bright green, and the six liirge stones are opals, made for a girl whose lovely auburn hair induced her to adopt the "weaiin' of ihe green." and, as &lie yi as, born in October, opals, of course, were her lucky stone. This idea allows of each one designing her own brooch, using her favourite colour, and selecting the stones according to their meaning in the language of sentiment, or the one belonging to the month in which she was born, morals are appearing here in gret't variety, and will be very generally worn fiis season, especially the pink coral, of wh.ch such lovblv ornaments arc mide. Those, therefore, who possess thun, but who have relegated them to an odd corner of their jewel case, would do well to bring them forth agoin to the light of day.
