PALMERSTON SALE.
Messrs Wright, Steplie/isoa, and Co. report as follows : — We held our inontliy sale at M'Kay's yards on Monday last, and have to repoit a very successful sale. There was a laige lurxi-oub of farmers and dealers, and stock of all kind fetched high prices. The entry of sheep comprised about 600 of all classes. We sold the lollowing lots: — For Mr F. G. Glover (Dunback), 30 two-tooth wethers at 11s 8d ; Mr W. Cunningham (Stonebiu\a), 40 two-tooth wcthexs and maiden ewes at 11s; Mr Andrew Wright (Palmerston), 50 full-mouthed crossbred eves at 9s 6d ; Mr Matthew Lee (Green Valley). 89 lambs at 9s 3d, 41 four-tooth wethers ac ]3s Id, S full-mouthed crossbred ewes at 11s &d; Mr Peter" Arnott (Palmerston), 40 two and four-tooth crossbred wethers at 12s 3d ; Mrs j Dreaver (Palmerston), 30 two-tooth v/etheis and maiden ewes at 12s 7d; Mr George Dent (Green Valley), 17 halfbred wethers and ewes at 18s; Mr . nomas Dent (Green Valley), 6 ram lambs at 12s. Cattle were not a very good show, with Hie exception of a few lots. We sold : For Mr Glover (Dunback), 3 two-year-old steers at £o 9s, 1 bull at £3 9s Gd ; Air Patrick Toomey (Waikouaiti), 10 heifers ot £k 10s; Mr John Chisliolm (Waikouaiti;, 3 cow at £i 13s. Horses. — For Mr 3ST. Kinross (Shag Point), a bay pony mare at £&. We also sold the purebred Clydesdale stallion M'Calhun, the property of the Palmerston and Waihemo A. and P. Association. This horse is a v/ell-kaown. sire, and has left some very piomising youngsters in the district. He was keenly competed for, and was ultimately knocked dov.'n to Messrs Sim Bros., of Pxnekeriki. SALE AT INCHCLUTHA. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows: — We had a very successful sale at Inchci'utha on Tuesday., when, by older of the executor, we sold by public auction the whole of the farm stock and plant of the late Angus M'Diarmid. Although it. was a wet day, there was on excellent muster ot settlers, and as the stock was of good class and saleable, full prices wee the order of the day. Horses, cattle, and plieep were all in splendid condition, and were disposed of as follows- — 127 crossbred breeding ewes at 13s sd ; ?9G two-tooth cressbred maiden ewes and weth;i\s at 12s 2d to 12s Ocl ; 127 crossbred lambs at 10s. Fat cattle fetched £7 10s, fat heifers .£5 ss, two-year-old steers and he'fers .63 10s, daiiy cows .-£4 to £ti 2s (3d, draught horses^ .£2O to c£4o ; farming implements, etc., full values.
