LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board was ield on Wednesday, the following members being present: — The Chief Commissioner (Mr J. P. Maitland), and Messrs Clark, Dallas, Duncan, and Kirkpatrick.

William Pearson's application to purchase [lis residential area of one acre in block VII, Upper Taieri, was granted, at a capital value of £1.

A. C. Begg applied for time to remove stock from sections 9, 10, 11, block IX, and section 1 Mock XI, Kuriwao.— To be allowed 14 days.

H. C. M'Cormick wrote re boundary line between section 2, block XI, Tuapeka. East, and portion of Run No. 51. — The board declined to agree to what was requested.

The following applications were approved: — By Vincent County Council to expend thirds and fourths for period 3rd July to 30th September, 1899 To complete purchase of section 16, block 111, Cimmerburn, Patrick M'Erlane. To transfer Run 260e, Lee Stream, James Olouston to John Deans. To purchase section 5, block VIII, Dunedin and East Taieri district, &w ITlett. Jo, tamsf ex section 1. block XIII,

Rock and Pillar, James O'Connell to James Christie.

It was resolved to notify the following lands : — Section 11, block 111, Catlins, at capital value of 10s per acre, with vahiat.on for improvements, £24. Sectioii 15, block V, Glenomaru, at capital value of 10s per acre, with valuation £256 8s 6d. Section 36, block V, Glenomaru, at capital value of 10s per acre, with valuation £14. Section 16, block VIII, Tautuku, at capital value of 7s 6d per acre, with valuation £28. Section 17, block VII, Tautuku, at capital value of 7s 6d per acre.

Messrs Stout, Mondy, and Sim applied on behalf of Alexander M'Rae (administrator) to have his name recorded as licensee of section 17, block VI, Budle, vice John M'Rae (deceased). — Agreed to. S. Fryer applied for license to occupy unsold sections in block IV, town of Kapiti. — Declined.

The application of the Wpitaki County Council to have section 18, block 11, Maerewhenua district, gravel reserve, vested in the council, was referred to the ranger to report.

An application to transfer " section 10, block VII, Swin burn, Geo. Sutherland to John Pout, was referred to the ranger to report.

The chief surveyor forwarded a. -''eport iipon section 1, block XII, Tautuku, held by P. and M. Comber, aijplied for by Patrick Fanning. — It was resolved to cancel the Messrs Comber's right to a license, they not having fulfilled the conditions, and to grant Patrick Farming' s application.
