PALMERSTON
It is thither that the bulk of the Dunsdin sporting men will travel on Boxing Day, expecting a good afternoon s amusement, and perchance a dividend. I cannot promise tho latter, but tho one thing sure is that the Palmerston Club will do all in its power to make things pleasant, and if the weather be fine it will be a good outing. Mr Gwynno sends the acceptance? — J wish all secretaries would do tho fame, thereby saving me time, and getting a good advertisement for their cme — and after looking through the list, which appears in another column, I make the following selections:—Maiden Plato. Patriot; Palmerslon, Cup, Vanilla: Shag Valley Handicap, Edelweiss ; Novel Race, Miss Hilary ; Flying Handicap, Edelweiss; District Plate, Blackpool. Theso are my best ideas, but I have not -asked anyone as to which of tho races any horge will be started in.
