The Dunedin Harriers' Club has been affiliated with the New Zealand A.A.A. ' At the lost meeting of the council of the "V.Z.A.A.A., on the recommendation of the focal officer,the application of the Otago ProfesEional League for a permit to include a teams race for amateurs on its sports programme wao refused. Mr Garrard asked why the permit had been refused, and Mr Frost said that a similar application from the Otago Labour Day Association had been recently granted. The Chairman explained that there was a rule 'allowing permits to be granted where it was considered amateurism would be benefited, and the practice had been to grant applications to Caledonian and such like associations that held sports once a year, but not to profesrional bodies that held periodical meetings. The action, of the Permit Comnittoe was confirmed.
