Fat Cattle. — The yarding was limited to-day to about 200, and of these about GO were stores. In consequence of the shortness prices showed an improvement of about 10s to 15s per head for good butchers' cattle. Best bullocks ranged from £7 10s to £8 15s (two extra prime bringing £12) ; medium, £6 to £7 ; cows and heifers, £4 10s to £6. Stoics, sold well for good kinds at from £6 to £6 15s. Tho Farmers' Agency Company sold : For Mr A. Douglas, 2 bullocks at £7 17s 6d, 2doat£7 2s 6d ; Mr W. Fat Lamba. — About 300 were penned, ths greater proportion being of exceptionally fine quality, and very forward for this 'time of the year. Prices were better than last week by about la all xound. Country Sales Dalgety and Co. report hay-< " ing held a clearing salo of dairy cowa at Mr Robert Greig's farm, Wyllio's Crossing, on Tuesday, the 28th inst. The cowa were all in full milk, and as these were known throughout the district to be really good .milkers and ii v splendid condition, there waa a large gathering of buyers, and prices obtained very satisfactory. The prices ranged from £4 to £6 12s 6d for cows, and £3 153 to £5 10s for first calyera. A number of horses, on account of various owners, were afterwards offered, but little business was done. Draughts brougiii to £20 10s, and light horses to £10. Hides. — The market still continues firm, and there is eager competition for all kinds coming forward. Quotations ore as follows: — Extra heavy ox up to 4id psr lb ; prime, 3gd to 4£d ; medium, 3d to 3id; light, 3d; inferior and, damaged, 2d to 2>£d. Tallow and Fat.— Tho demand for these ia brisk, and there is no difficulty in placing "all lines that come forward at satisfactory prices. Prims rondered is" worth from 15s to" 17s per cwt; medium, 12a 6d to 14s 6d; inferior, 10a to 12s; lough, fat, Ss to lla Gd. Wh&at. — The market at present is almost lifeless, ,and millers cannot bo induced to operate except in 3mall lines of very choice quality. There is a fair inquiry for, small lots oi fowl Iced, but the demand for wheat of all kinds is at the present extremely limited. QuoSations are aa follows : — Prirrie milling, 2s Gd to 2s &£d per bushel; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Get : fowl wheat, 2s 3d to 2s 4d.Oat 3. — There have been very few operations in those during, the week, as speculators do noi sesm inclined to give up to late prices, and hojders are •firm. This, however, seems to bo in con3equ<>nco of iack of freight accommodation. Tho impression prevails that considerable quantities will yet be required for Soush Africa, based no doubt on recent cablegrams that further largo orders had boon given for New Zealand oat 3by the Home authoritias. , If such is the case, and suitable shipping spaco ia available, there seems no reason why the recent rise should not be fully maintained* and stocks held in sDunedin cleared. Potatoes— These, aro very difficult to handle, and the demand ia very poor. Considerable quantities of new potatoes are finding their way into the market just now, and* it is vory; hard to sell Derwents at anything over 20s per ton (sacks in). i
Chaff. — The arrivals have not been heavy, and quotations are much tho same as lasb week. Prime oaten sheaf is wortli from £3 124 Gel to £2 35b; good, £2 7s Gd to £2 10a; medium, £2 to £2 5s (in all cases sacks extra).

WEEKLY MARKET ..'REPORT. Messrs A. Moriizson and Co. report fop week ending November 29: — Wheat.— The demand isoiot so active as it was. millers in tho meantimo holding off the. market, and to make sales lower prices have to be accepted. The demand for. fowl feed ia fairly brisk. We quote: Best velvet, 2s 7d to 2s 9d ; medium, 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; best Tuscan, 2s 8d to 2s 9d; medium, 2s .7d; fowl wheat, 2s 2d to 2s • 4d. Oats : Qutsido inquiries have ceased at present, there is little business passing, though prices are without "alteration. We quote: Best feed. Is 9£d; medium; and inferior, Is 7d to 'is 9d per bushel; Sutherlands, Is lOd to Is lOJd: Barley: There is lather a better demand. Feed/ sorta are quoted at Is 6d to Is 9d; milling, 3 s lOd to 2s; prime malting, 2s 9d to 3a ~ 4d : medium, 2s id to 2s Bd. Ryecora, nominally, 2s to 2s 6d, no sale. Flour- We quote £7. Oatmeal in 25's, £10. Pearl barley, 512. Bran, £3. Pollard, £3 10a. Nelson hops aro quoted at 3d to lid (f.0.b.). There- waa a good: attendance of buyers present and competition, waa very keen, particularly for well saved lines, suitable for shipping. Greew crossbreda sold from 5s 6d to 7a 6d; extra, to 88; dry crossbreda-, 2a 3d to 7s; merino, 23 id. to 7s ; extra, 7a 6d to 8a ; pelts, 6d to Is 9d. Raljbitakins'. — We offered a large catalogue this week. Competition was brisk, and prices ruled firm at quotations.' Best winters sold from 15Jd to 16* d; selected to 17Jd; springs from lid to 14d ; summer from 7d to 9d ; small, 3d to 6d per lb. VB.VIT AND rHODUCH REPORT. Butter. — The demand for London has commenced, and prices show an improvement on last year. We posted our circular, and will give particulars on inquiry.
