ASLA BANK.

November 2Q.— Fine weather is prevailing at • present, and oats and grass are improving fast, Much of the crop has been got into the ground 'iitgood order, but tho cold squally weather has kept all back' vtry considerably, showers of hail and snow blasting all, and permitting no growth. However, everything is doing well now in this part of the country. Those having grniri to sell are getting good Value -for it now. Stock are thriving and looking well where properly cared for. The lambing season was good excepting for a few cold, windy days. The percentage of lambs will be high. A few lost lambs through the stormy nights, but the majority were safe, and where sheltered the returns will be good. Only a few in this district look after their gardens. It would pay most peole to do more in the garden than is the rule in this locality. School. — The times are still rather flat about Calcium. The school is doing as well as could be expected, the teacher working hard ,and the attendance being good. Political. — The election for Wallace is not creating much interest. The present member will probably be returned.

Accident. — A cad accident occurred at Fairfax last night. A man got his leg into the drum of a threshing mill, and the limb was taken off. Latest accounts state that he is as •well ob can be expected. Angling. — Our anglers had poor success on the opening day, but since David Henderson has taken 10 and 15 a day, G. Duke 10 a day, and Mr M'Kenzio 9 a d»y. The trout are in the rivers here, and only require skilful angling.
