I EXPERIMENTS WITH -MANGELS, CARROTS AND TURNIPS. The results of experiments with different i manures on mangels, carrots and turnips, ■J showing in each' case" extraordinary, yields, are as follows : — Experiment No. 1. Sutton's Prize-winner Mangel, sown with different manures at the rate of 61b seed per acre ; manures applied at the rate of 2£c\vt per acre with 400 gal water. Soil — a strong ; loam. Previous crop — wheat, preceded- by 1 two crops of clover in successive years.

i Experiment No. 2. | Yellow Intermediate Carrot, sown with j different manures. Seed sown at the rate jof 31b per acre. Manures applied at the , rate of 2£cwt per acre, with 400 gal water. | Soil — a strong loam. Previous crop — wheat, • preceded by two crops of clover in successive years.

Experiment No. 3. Imperial Green Globe' Turnip, sown with different manures. •- The manures were ap- ■ plied at_ the rate -of liewt per acre, with , \ 30Ogal' water. Soil — a good loam. ' Previous } crop — wheat.

■Experiment No. 4. Aberdeen Purple Top Yellow Turnip, sown with different manures. Seed sown at the ' rate of 31b per acre. The manures were applied at the rat* of l£cwt per acre, with 300 gal water. Soil — a light loam. Previous crop — oats.
