THE MOA PLAT DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).
The first general meeting of shareholders was held at the office of the company, No. 1, Bond street, on tho 12th insl., when the following were elected directors: — Messrs G. R. Fisher, George Knox, E. Melland, G. A. Hunter, and R. Cormack (of Roxburgh). Mr W. Vivian was appointed auditor. The meeting was largely attended, and after the usual routine business had been disposed of, Mr Patrick Riordan, one of the vendors — who is a practical miner of many years' experience — gave a description of the claim, and explained his plan of working the ground. The
engineers (Messrs Cutten Bros.) have the general plans of the dredge well forward, and expect very shortly to call for tenders. The buokets will be 5 cubic feet, ladder 40ft, and the elevator 70ft, with a provision made for an extra 20ft in case it shoixld be required,. • t A cable was sent to England for the engine some time ago, and, seeing that all the arrangements have been so well completed, it is expected that the dredge will be at work in about eight months.
