MANORBURN GOLD DREDGING COMPANY.
The half-yearly meeting of the Manorburn Gold Dredging Company (Limited) was held at the registered office of the company on Friday afternoon. The managing director (Mr J. A. Park) occupied the chair, and, in presenting the report of the directors and the half-yearly balance sheet for the period ending the 30th June, congratulated the shareholders on the satisfactory position of the company. The balance sheet showed the gold won for the halfyear was £2374 5s Id, from which dividends were paid amounting to £825. A bonus to the dredge staff of £110 had been paid, in addition to their regular wages. The dredge, during this period, had been installed with electric light plant, which is giving complete satisfaction. During the half-year Mr C. E. Richardson, who had from the start of the company acted as dredgemaster, had resigned in order to take up business in Sydney, and Mr Harry Leicester was promoted by the directors to the vacant position. A vote of thanks to the directors and staff was responded to by the managing director, who assured the meeting that a better or more efficient crew could' not be wished for. He had last week visited the dredge, and had opportunities of seeing the care and attention they devoted to their duties.
