We understand on good authority that Mr M'Connochie, of St. Bathans, has disposed of his property at St. Kilda at a satisfactory price.

Messrs John Mowlem and Co., auctioneers, etc., Masterton, have filed a statement in bankruptcy, which shows a deficiency of £6661. The amounts due to unsecured creditors total up to £36*5. The bank overdraft is £5091, which is secured by the personal guarantee of Captain Mowlem, of Palmerston North, for £6000. A line of 600 lambs bred on Castle Rock estate was trucked from Lumsden on Tuesd»y last, to the order of a Canterbury buyer. They were a splendid lot, in prime condition, and from the opinion passed by an expert would be hard to beat. Such being the case, although bred in Southland, they will probably reach London and be sold as " prime Canterbury." — Southland Times. The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited) report, under date Hawera, June 1: — At our horse fair on "the 27th ult., about the usual number of horses came forward, there being a shortage of draughts, which are keenly sought after at the present time. Draughts, £15 to £22 10s; harness horses, £8 to £15 10s; hacks, £5 to £12 12s 6d ; pack horses, £1 to £3.
