ANTI-RITUAL CRUSADE.
LONDON, April 29. The Bishop of Hereford presided at an important meeting attended by many commoners, evangelical, broad, moderate, and high churchmen. Sir Edward Clarke de- - clared that there was no historical grounds for questioning the authority of the Privy Council with regard to church matter* Resolutions were adopt«d that the Presence lv the Lord's Sacrament was a purely spiritual one ; that the establishment of confessionals be condemned ; that the jurisdiction of the courts must be upheld.
