SOUTHLAND GRAIN MARKET. (From Our Own Correspondent.)
INVERCARGILL, May 3. Wheat. — There is no change to report, and no buyers outside of the local millers.
Oats. — The continuous bad weather has affected the threshing, and consequently not many have been offered. Prices still keep at Is Id for best feed, with a shade more for milling. As the weather has now taken up it is anticipated that large quantities will be offered duiiug the next week or two.
Barley. — No change to report. Malting, 2s 3d; milling, Is 9d to 2s; feed, Is 6d.
Chaff. — Prices ,have eased and sales are being made at 36s per ton, delivered into store.
Potatoes. — -No change. To-day's price 30s in store.
Ryegrass. — A few sales have been made at from Is to Is 3d for fair samples of farmers' dressed.
Cocksfoot. — Farmers' dressed from 2d to 3d per lb.
