i Alpine. — The Mine Manager reports- — In the jj top- stopes at the back of -No. 9 level we aie : , still taking out a few small, blocks of stone, but the quantity of quartz being won from here I is very small. It is, however, of good quality. [ 1 Stoping has been steadily carried on above No. i 13 level, the reef being from 4ft to 6ft in width, . and the quality of the stone continues payable. , The uprise at the back of No. 10 level has been . continued with four men, and is now up a | j total height of 21ft. The rise is now in mul- i i Jock. Tho intermediate above No. 11 level has been driven south for a distance of 6ft. The ; reef has widened out to 6ft, but hns gradually j risen up, and it now lies only half way down j tho face of the drive. Work has been tempo- ' rarily suspended here in order to drive the in- [ termediate width to facilitate the work of truck- J , ing in the noith end. Six feet also have been ! driven, and about 'oin of stone of fair quality I have" been carried along.
