PARIS, April 6. In view of the old-standing difficulty between Turkey and France in reference to the Tunis-Tripoli boundary and the objections which have been raised to the hinterland clause of the agreement between these two States, M. Barrere, French Ambassador at Rome, has been ordered to assure Italy that if the Tripolitan question should ever be discussed France's attitude would not be hostile to Italian interests in that portion of Africa ; also to assure Italy that France has no designs on Tripoli.
