GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT.
Mr A. Gillespie Reynolds renorts* for tho week ending 12th April, 1899, as follows: — I Oats are in fair demand, but prices are too high as compared with the Bluff, consequently fales are limited. To-day prices are: Prime Is 3id to Is 4d, pood Is 3d. inferior no inquiry. Wheat is slow of sale at up to 2s 6d for primo velvet. Chaff —Tho inquiry for prime 13 good, and I parrels may be quoted at £2 15s to £2 17s 6d, j good «ij to £2 12s Cd. ; Potatoes are easiei, find demand moderate. Prime Derwents up to £2 23 6d, choice' £2 . ss. j Barley.—This market is scarcely opened yot. So far tho demand has been for choice and prime samples only. Othei lines are neglected, owner to plenty of medium offering from Christchurch at veiy low figures and much below what farmers expect locpllv. Choice Lake 3 may bo quoted at up to 2s 6d, prime up to 3a 3d, really good 3s, medium no inquiry at above 2s 6d. I have buyers for all classes of grain and produce and solicit samples and consignments.
