Messrs Moritzoon and Hopkin report for weak ending April 12: — Wheat.—There is a fair demand for prime i samples, but other descriptions are hard to ; place. Fowl feed is readily placed at quotai tions. Wo quote: Best velvet, 2s 4d to 2a 6d; ! best Tuscan, 2s 3d to 2a 4d; fowl wheat, Is lid | to 2s. Oats: Samples are now offering freely ! from the south, with tho result that prices ' have given way. We quota: Best feed, la , 3id; medium and inferior, la Id to ; Is 3d per bushel; Sutherlands, Is sd. Barley: ! Feed sorts are quoted at Is 6d to Is 3d ; milling, Is lOd to 2s; prime malting, 2s 9d to 3s 4d; medium, 2s <td to 2s Bd. Ryecorn, 3s. Flour: We quote £7. Oatmeal in 25's, £8. Pearl barloy, 312. Bran, £2 10s. Pollard, £3 10s. Nelson hoos are quoted at 7d to lid (f.0.b.). Chaff: Scarce, Prime, ,£2 15s; medium, £2 5s to £2 12s 6d. Ryegrass: Few salos arc being nad» here, farmers being inclined to hold in the meantime, to see- if prices will improve. Buyers' ideas of values are from Is 3d to Is 7d for ordinary farmers' dressed seed, and up to 2s for exceptionally good samples. We quote: I Farmers' dressed, Is 3d to Is 9d; machined. ! 2s 6d to 3s. Owing to a new buyer being in the market competition was particularly keen, and prices showed an advance of 3d to 4d per lb, and in some cases more, over la3t woel^a quotations. Please note consignors of butter must consign to us, Dunedin, not Port ; Chalmers. Homo shipments now stopped. Cheese: Factory, <i\d; good Akaroa, 4d. Pigs.—For good quality, to 4Jd. Poultry received for salt* any day. Roosters, 2s to 3s; hens, Is to 2s; ducks, 3s to 4s per pair. These quotations are for primo quality.
