During his connection with [ hospital management, as chairman of the committee, at Nelson he had to notice the distressing difficulty of dealing with cases of indigent persons suffering from incurable diseases, who liad to be discharged from the hospital. H« hoped his offering would be supplemented by the Colonial Treasurer under "'The Hospital Act, 1885." The whole matter would be dealt with in a pi'oper I and legal way. The motion was carried unanimously.
