THE PALMERSTON CLUB.

The annual meeting was held last Thursday evening in the North-western Hotel. A large number of members were present, Mr R. Ewing (president) being in the chair. The report and ■balance sheet were read by the secretary, and considered satisfactory. A number of new members were elected. The following officers were appointed: — Mr E. Ewing, president ; Mr James Arkle, vicepresident; Mr G-. Dowse, handicapper; Mr W. Robertson, treasurer; and Mr J. T. Gwynne, hon. secretary. The General, Ground, and Programme Committees were also elected, and the latter instructed to draw up the programme, to be submitted on the 26th inst. for approval. It was decided to hold the races on Monday, December 26 (Boxing Day).
