DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS WEEKLY REPORT.

Messrs Wright, Stcphenson, and Co. report as follows under date 3rd inst : — Tlie features of this wpek's market were the small number of horses forward, and the unusually large number of buyers, both from town and country. There were only three draughts in the yard, two of them very old, and the other a useful five-year-old farm mare. These were sold at extreme prices, and 20 or 30 more could have been as readily disposed of if they had been forward. The scarcity of good dio tight mares and geldings is being increasingly felt each week, and there can be no question that those who have a horse or two that they can spare should avail themselves of the present opportunity of getting full value for them. Carriers, contractors, millers, farmers, and others are all inquiring for horses. Sellers, therefore, need not hesitate about trying our market. "We arc pleased also to be able to report a good demand for good spring van and order cart horses, and for the first time for some months useful, light harness horses and good hacks were inquired for. Consignments of these classes of horses, if young, sottnd, and staunch, could be sold to advantage just now. This week we sold about a dozen at very satisfactory prices. "\Ye beg to direct attention to our sale of Mr J. It. Mackenzie's famous Glenkenich stud of Clydesdales at our Goie Horse Bazaar on Thursday, &th inst. We ovote: Superior draught geldings, young, £35 to ;610; extra good a few pounds more; superior young draught mares and fillies, £i oto £50; prize mares and fillies, £60 to £100; oicli-na-y draught mares and geldings, £25 to £34; aged draught mares and geldings, £14 to £10 ; 3'oung cairiage and cavalry horses, £20 to £30; well-matched carriage pairs, £50 to £80; strong spnng-cprfc horses (young), £16 to £25; ordinary hacks and light-harness horses, £8 to £14; weedy and pged hacks and harness horses, £2 to £5.
