A match between the Cbri&tcburch City RifLa aud the North Dunedin R'fhs was fired at the Bromley range, Christchurch, on Thursday afternoon, tho conditions being 10 meu a-side and the distances 500 aud 600 yavda, 10 shots at eaeb_rarge. Oa the conclusion ot the filing afc the 500 yards range the visitors had established a lead ot 17 points, which they failed to maintain st the longer range, the home team ultimately winniug by 35 points. Tho highest ecore in the match was made by Private Richardson for the North Dunedin Rifles, who put on the very creditable score of 90, while Corporal Spry and Private Spry, two youug shots of the City Riftas, distinguished themselves by scores of 89 and 83 respectively. In the evening a smoke concert, presided over by Captain J''airbQirn, was held at the orderly room ot tho City Rifles, at which the visitors were entertained. The following is the toast list :— " The Queen," proposed by the Chairman ; " The North Dunedin Rifles," proposed by Captain Faubairo and responded to by Captain Myers ; " Staft Sergeant-iu^jor Towler," proposed by Colour-sergeant Bean ; and "Private Richardson, N D R.," proposed by Sergeant Trebilcock. Songs were suug by Private Hallt»y, Captains Myers and Fairhairn, Lance-corporal Beaumont, and otbere, Captain Myers contributed several graphophonc items.
