MANIOTOTO JOCKEY CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Maniototo 'Jockey Club was held on Tuesday week, in the club's room, when there was a very fair attendance. The annual report showed that owing to the almost unprecedented gales which blew on the two days of the annual meeting the success of Ihe meeting had been marred, and the club therefore had deficit for the year of about £40. Bui. for the unpropitious circumstances mentioned there would have been a considerable credit balance. The following office-bearers wore- elected: — •President, Mr D. M. Calder; vice-president, Mr A. L. Herdman; treasurer, Mr Bevin; auditor, Mr Lundon ; committee, after a ballot—Messrs J. R. Smith, Gossage, Lundon, 3&\ W. Inder, B. Inder, T. Stephens. Tho Bewelary was instructed to write to the "Vincent and Alexandra Jockey Clubs expressing sympathy with them in the loss ot one of 'their totalieator permits. The secretary, Mr iT. J. Francis, stated that he wished to retire 'from the position, and asked that the club should appoint a successor. The matter was referred to the committee. The following appointments were made: — Judge, Mr D. M. Calder; starter, Mr R. M'Skimming ; handicap per, Mr W. Hall, jun. ; clerk of tho scales, Me J. Dawson ; timekeeper, Mr Gos sage; clerk of the course, Mr IX. Inder,
