PENINSULA.
The regular meeting of the Tomahawk Road Board was attended by Messrs Smail (chairman), Patrick, and Henderson. The chairman was authorised lo instruct tho surfaceman to plant lupins on the Sandhills on several places on New road; also to havo the watrrtablea cleaned at each side of by-culvert. Accounts wero passed for payment for £26 4a sd. The regular meeting of the Peninsula, Road. Board was held at the board's office, Highchff, and was attended by Messra Stuart (chairman), Sanderson, M'Curdy, Rowe, and Robeitson. Mr H Duckworth appeared before the board with a petition signed by the residents of Oaklands drawing attention to the necessity of a road through Mr Barmby's property to the mam road. It was resolved that the board recognise the necessity of this road, but the financial position doss not warrant the board in proceeding with the work at present. Mr Duckworth was requested to ascertain tho cost of deviation and report at some future meeting. Mr Holmes wrote asking permission to erect a fence across the top end of the unused roadline at Hignchtt. It was resolved to grant tho request. Several plans were received from Mr M. Begi? showing surveys of roads in Sandymount-Sealpomt road, Sandmount main road, and deviation through Mr D. Young's property. Messrs Christie, sanitary engineers, wrote asking permission to put in a drain to carry tho water from Mr Somner s property at Anderson's Bay into the harbour. It v/as resolved to grant tho request, providing the water is conveyed into the harbour at the samo place as the present sewer, which will ba shown by Mr M'Curdy. Accounts for £130 3a Id were passed for payment.
