WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs Moiutzson and Hopkin report for week ending August 3 : —

Wheat. —There is absolutely no business passing. Millers, being anxious to reduce their stocks, are holding off the market in the meantime. The demand for fowl feed has also fallen aw.-y. We quote: Bast velvet, 43 7d to 4s 8d best Tuscan, 4s 8d to 4s 7d ; fowis' wheat, 3s 3d lo 3s 7d. Of Is: The maj-kct shows a little nioie activity. Stocks in groweis' hands in Dunedin are light, and we expect to see a better demand set in befoie long; prices during the week show no alteration. We quote: Best feed, 2s 2d to 2s 3d per bushel; Sutheilauds, 2s Gd. Barley: Feed sorts are quoted at 2s 3d to 2s Gd; milling, 3s 3d to 4s; milling, 4s Gd to 5s 2d. ltyccocn, 3s 3d lo 3s 9d. Flour: We quote £12. Oatmeal in 25's, £13. Pearl barley, £21 10s. Bran, £3. Pollard, £4. Nelson hops are quoted at Is 3d. Chaff: Prime, £3 32s 6d to £3 15s; medium, £3 ss. Ryegras3 : The demand is keen for all descriptions, especially small, shotty seed. We have largo oideis lo fill, and ran plnce any quantity. Farmers' dressed, 2s to 3s 2d; machined, 3s Gd to 4s Gd. Cocksfoot, 3d to 3£d for f aimers' lots, and 4Jd to oid for machined. Linseed (wanted), £12 to £13. Pressed straw, 25s to 27s Gd. Clover hay. £4. Nitrate of soda, £15. Basic slag, £5. Clovers, rape, &c, just landing. We can offer all classes of seeds pure and fresh. Maize, 3s 6d per bushel , Piua°i£»n blue p->a<>, 5s Gd per bushel.

Seed Wheat. — We have some fine samples of velvet, Tuscan, &c, and shall be pleased to forward samples on application.

Potatoes.— The demand is active, and prices remain firm. We quote: Derwents, £7 5s to £7 10s.

Hides, lid to 4d, according to weight and condition.

Tallow: Rough fat, 9s to lls; rendered, 10s Gd to 15r, according to quality.

Horsehair, Is to Is 3d,

Ribbitskins. — The demand continues keen. We quote: Incomings, 13d lo 15d; winters, 16d to 19d; selected does a shade more; autumns, 8d to lid; summers, Gd to 9d; suckers and runners, 2d to 5d per lb; best blacks, 18d to 19d. We sell by auction every Monday.

Sheepskins. — The demand is very keen, and prices remain firm. We quote. Dry crossbreds, 2s 6d to 5s 9d, inferior, Is 3d to 2s 4d; dry pelts, 'Id to Is 3d; diy merinos, 2s 3d to ss; inferior, Is to 2s ; green crossbreds, 3s to 3s 9d ; extra, to 4s 3d; green lambskins, 2s 8d to 3s 4d each.
