CORRESPONDENCE CONDENSED.
Mr Edwin Rutland, Richmond Groye, Southland (an old resident), in a letter which he desires published, cays he is delighted' with the Jubilee numbers published, which he regards as works of art. The writer says he has been in the colony 40 years, having arrived at Lyttelton on October 3, 1857. He visited Wellington and Hawke's B*y, and then! visited London in 1862. He took unto himself » partner, and set sail for the Blaff in the George Pollock, arriving in February, 1863. In conclusion he says :— " From the bottom of my heatt I say, God bless and prosper all tho3B who are engaged in journalism." As a nostcripfc Mr Rutland notes the omission from the Jubilee number of the names of Mr E. D. Butts, InvercargiU'a firat postmaster, afterwards chief postmaster afc Dunedin ; William Steel, Invercargill's first letter carrier ; the late Rev. D.
