Fat Cattle. — The yarding to-day consisted of 220 head, mostly medium-weight bullocks, anything special being fairly well competed for, but for other sorts there was a dragging sale, graziers, in face of the backward season, not even opera- : ting for the unfinished sorts. Best bullocks { brought £7 103 to £8 2s 6d ; medium, £6 10s to I £7 ; other*, £3 10s to £5 15s ; best cows, £4 to £5 > 10s ; others, £2 to £3. —Dalgety and Co. (Limited) I yaided 18, and sold as follow* :— For Mr A. Baker ! (Broad Bay), 2 heifers at £ ! 2s 6d : Mr George Aitcheson (Hampden), 7 bullocks at £8 to £4 7s 6d ; Mr W. _Fat_ Sheep —The yarding 10-day consisted of 2554sbeep, a small number only of which were really prime wethers, the greater portion being comprised of ewes and half and three-parts fat wethers, graziers taking a considerable number of the latter. There wa3 a fair demand for prime wethers, but values for inferior sheep were, if anything, lower than last week'R rate 3. Extra heavy crossbred wethers brought from ]Is 6i to 12s 9d ; good, 9s 6d to 10s 6d ; medium, 8s to 9j ; light, 6s Si to 7s 3d ; best ewes, 81 to 9a ; medium, 6s 6d to 7s 6d ; inferior, 4s to 5s 6d.— Dalgety and Co (Limited) yarded 652. and sold : For Mr John Logan (Otama), 179 crossbred wethera at 12s 6'd to lls ; Mi F. Fat Lambs.— The number yarded to-day was 904, and again was in excess of requirements. Freezing buyers opened very cautiously, only taking such pens as could be secured at a reduction on last week's rates. The.demand for j butchers' purposes is now very small, conse- ! quently the trade were able tc fill their requirements at their own prices. Graziers were buyers for low-conditioned lambs and for those not required by butchers, but prices paid by them > were lower than last week's rates, more , particularly for medium quality, which, in many 1 iustance?, brought 6d to Is per head lower, i Bast freezing lambs brought 8s 9d to 9s 4d ; ' good do, 7s to 85 ; medium do, 5s to 6s ; stores, 3s to 4s 6d.— Dalgetv and Com- , pany (Limited) yarded 189, and sold as

Hall, 80 at 5s 3d { Mr A. Douglas, 11 at 6s. Pigs.— The yarding to-day consisted of 146 head. The demand for all sorts still exists, and prices ruled aa follow :— Suckers, 9s 6d to 13s [ slips, 153 6d to ISs ; stores, 19.s to 25s ; porkers, 27s to 303 light bacon, 3C,s to 41s ; heavy, 46s to 57s ; pen extra heavy, £3.— Dalgety and Co. (Limited) sold a draft at quotations. — Donald Reid and Co. yarded '26, and sold <• For Messis D." Dodd, M. Tweed, W. Blackig, and Joseph Pickering, at market rates. — Maclkan and Co. sold a small consignment for Mr C. Williams (Mihiwaka) at market rates.
Wheat.— Very dull of sale, millers refusing to purchase except, at a reduction of from ljd to 2d per bushel— prime northern velvet bringing from 4s 7d to 4s 8d ; southern, 4s 5d to 4s 6d ; Tuscan and red sorts, 2d less (sacks in, terms). Oats are now comiDg to hand more freely, prices being, if anything, rather firmer. Sutherlands, 2s 3d ; good milling sparrow bills, up to 2s 2d ; good feed, 2s to 2s Id ; medium and inferior, Is lOd to Is lid". < Barley. — Market remains firm, without change iv values. Best malting, 4s 8d to 5s ; fair to medium, 4a 2d to 4s 5d : feed and milling, 2s 6d to 3s 6d. Chaff.— The market ha 3 dropped about 53 per ton during the week owing to larger quantities coming forward. Primn well cut, £3 15s to £3 17s 6d ; mcdium,-£3 to £3 103.
Potatoes. — We have again to report a drop in prices, best not them Derwents being worth £3 7s 6d to £3 12s 6d ; southerns, £3 5s to £3 10s. Hides.— Market lemains firm at last week's rates, prime heavy ox bringing from 3Jd to 3Jd ; medium, 2Jd to 3d ; listht and inferior, lfd to 2Jd.
