DEATH OF A SLEEP-WALKER.
Nelson, April 9. A fatal accident occurred at an early hour this morning, A young man named William Cooke, son of a Blenheim resident, was found at 2 a.m. lying dead on the footpath in front of Lloyd's boarding house. His skull was fractured, and on Dr Roberts arriving he pronounced life extinct. Deceased had come from Blenheim on Thursday, and was staying at Lloyd's boarding bouse. He went to his bedroom facing the street lant night at the usual hour. It appears that he was a somnambulist, and an examination sbowed that he had fallen through the upstairs window on to the footpath, thereby fracturing his skull. At the inquest to-day a verdict ot " Accidental death" was returned.
