(From Our Own Correspondent. Lyelij, April 9. Alpine.— l he mine manager reports :— " The extension of the No. 10 main south level has been carried on' during the weefe. The reef is 'still broken, but the width between the walls remains

r,Che same (23ft). In the leading stope the reef has widened to 10ft, and fair stone is met with at times. ' The upper stopes remain as last reported, • the reef varying from 6ft to 12ft." The rising- in the Lyell Creek Company's old uprise has been resumed. The reef has deteriorated in size, it being at present 3ft in width in the north end. The drive to the south at the • bottom of ths main shaft has been carried on in order to connect with the 125ffr level. In ths crosscut to the east in No. 4 level the improvement in the country last reported still remains.
