STODDART'S TEAM v. SOUTH AUSTEALIA. Adelaide, March 20. Glorious weather and a splendid wicket favoured the first dav'a play for the return match between the Englishmen and South Ans'rplia. The last bowling of Jones played bpvco with the Englishmen, and was responsible for 1 their moderate score. Stoddart made bis beat score of the tour in first-class matches. Board's innings waß a merry one, and Kanjitsiuhji showed elegant cricket. Maclaren did do* take part in the match Things looked b»d for the Englishmen at the oufcrefc, bat Hayward and Ranjit«inhji altered the position of affair?, although runs only came slowly. Jones missed Stoddart at 4 off his own bowling, and Bosrd had a couple of lives. Darling and Lyons were shaping well when stumps were drawn.
