I The Dunedin Highland Rifles fired their return match against the East Taieri Rifles on ; the Pelichet B»y range on Saturday last, and it proved to be a very enjoyable and exciting match. The rarjges were 300 and 500 yarda (seven shots at the short and 10 shots at tha lorger range). At the 300 yds range the Highlander* gained an advantage by 6 points, while at 500 yds the teani3 put en exactly the same I j-coro, the local men thus winning the match by ■ 6 points. There was a puzzling wind blowing down the range in the fsce6 of the competitors, which, with the poar ammunition used (1896), made good shooting very diftioult.
