Is to 2s ; Dillon Extended, 2s to 2s 6d ; Go'den Lead, 6d to 9-1 ; Hercules, Hd to 9d ; Keep-it-Dark, 16s to 17s ; No. 2 South Dark, 6d to 9d ; Lord Edward, 6d to 9d ; Welcome (paid un), 3s 3d 10 3s 9d ; Boatmans Exploration, 6d to 9d. The Bul!er dredge obtained 250z 7dwt for SO hours' dredging. Ihe work wa^ Ltoppsd for part of the week owing to floods. The Alpine raturn is 210oz mka«£smq from 264 tons (clean up). Big River.—The manager repo:-1s for the week : "The crosscut from No. 6 level has been, extended a turther distance of 38ffc. There ia a hard bank of sandstone in the face at present. "We have traced the ttef down in the winze below the intermediate level a further depth of !4ft. The stone is about 2ft in thickness aud of good quality " In a case brought by the inspector of mines against the manager of the Wealth of Nations roiue for a breach of section 323. subsection 22, of "The Miniag -\ct. 1891," the defendant was fined £2, with court costs 19d 4d, witness' expenaes 10s, and counsel's fee £3 3s.
