BLUESKIN SHOW.

The thirtieth annual show of the Blueskin Agricultural and Pastoral Society was held at Waitati on Monday. The attendance was not so good as usual, the bitterly cold weather which prevailed all day no doubt keepiog nuny from visiting the show ground. Probxblythe altaration in the date of the show from the time at which it is usually he'd iOso bad something to do with the diminished attendance. There were altogether 247 entries as against 309 at the previous show, the falling off beii'g chiefly in cattle. The display of Ayrshire stock whs not nearly so large as last year, thero bsing only 51 entries as againtt 74 at the previous show. The quality of the exhibits on the whole w*e, however, very fair, while some of the animals were decidedly good specimens of their breed. The best cl&sees were the twc-year-old dry heifers and the cows in milk ; the aged, two-year-old, and yearling bulls also beinjj very good classes. Mr P. Ireland and Mrs K. $• JFerguson were the principal priza-lakers — the former carrying off no less than six first prizes, including the champion prize for the best Ayrdhire cow on the ground. The provincial-bred cattle were represented by 22 entries, cr 14 less than there were last year. Taking them all round they were an ordinary lot of cattle, with the exception of the cows in milk, which were remarkably good specimens. There were only four animals of the Jersey breed, which included a good bull ; while of shorthorns there was but one solitary representative. Draught horses were rather more numerous than last year, there being 27 entries altogether. A few very fair animals were exhibited among the number. Of thoroughbreds there were only eight, but coachers and hacks were more numerous than last year, ih*re being in all 64 entries. Several good serviceable hacks were exhibited, and one or two nice buggy horses. Only two collie dogs weze entered for competition, 'and the judge considered that neither of them was worthy of a prize. Mr F. Rogen, however, forwarded three fine collies for exhibition only. In the poultry section of the show, in which there were 12 entries, Mr J. M'Ghie took a eptcial prize for the best pair of fowls in the show with a couple of fine Spanish fowls. The show of dairy produce was not so large as that of last year, there being in all 40 entries. The quality of the latter, taking it all through, was very fair, and gome of it was very good, there being only one really bad exhibit. The Massey-Harris Company were the only exhibitor! of agricultural implements. They showed a reaper and binder, a hay rake, a Brantford mower, two scufil rs, and a Mossey-Harris bicycle. Mr J. Barnes exhibited a dogcart, and P. Diamond a couple of springcarts. The following is the p'ize list:— „
