LAND BOARD.

An adjourned meeting of the Land Board, held on Thursday, was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitland (chief commissioner), H. Clark, J Duncan, and H. H. Kirkpatiick.

Tarras.— An application by Donald Munrq to purchase section 1, block XIV, Tarras' district, was approved. Kelso. — A. M'Gregor applied to be allowed to plough and sow down in gras3 section 34, block XI, Kelso township. — The application was granted. TJi'i'Eß Wakatipu.— Ranger Mackenzie reported upon the application of James M'Henry for section 12, block 11, Upper Wakatipu district.— lt was res Ivcd that tho rectioa be withheld from sale in the meantime on account of the bush on it.

Naseby.— Samuel Law, sen , applied for a license to occupy section 31, block I, Naseby district. — A j early license was granted ou the former terms from January 16, with license fee £1 Is.

Pastoral Ruxs tor Forfeiture.— The board decided to gazette the pastoral runs held by the following licensees for foifeiture, the liceusres having failed to pay rent or penalty due :— P. Callanan, Table Hill ; W. B. Etfinsr, Pembroke; Ferris and Sachtler, Luggate ; Emily Howell, Muniototo ; Thomas Howell, filaniotot.i ; F. M'Millau, Skippers ; A. Sutherland, Waitahuna ; William Spence, Koxburgh ; William Hanger, St. Bathan3.

Grhexvalk. — Ranger Hughan reported upon the application by Mn> J. P. K'rke to be allowed to acquire on lease in perpetuity an area of 30 acres upon Runs 212f aud 212g, (Jreenvale district. — The application was approved ; the land to be acquired under section 115 of the act, at a capital value of 153 per acre. Jeientiah Cuny applied to be allowed to acquiie tedious 52 and 53, block IV, Greenvale district. — The lease of Eectiou 52 was foifeited for non-execution o£ same ; aud it was resolved that tbe applicant be allowed to acquire sections 52 and 55 (grouped) on lease in perpetuity, at a capital value of £2 10a per acre. -» Hasipden. — An application by Alexander Frew, to be allowed to transfer deferred-payment license, section 19, block XIII, town of Hampden, to David L. Reid, was referred to the ranger to report.

Woodland. — G. 11. Gr. Bevney applied to be allowed to surrender section 2, block VIII, Woodland district.— Tho license was foifeited for nonpayment of rent, and the ranger instructed to make valuation for improvements. Rocic and Pillar.— John Williamson applied to ha allowed to surrender Run 203b, Rock and Pillsu- district— The board declined to accepb surrender of the mn.

Leaning Hock.— An application by Margaret Foohcy for au occupation lease over sections 81, 83, and pait of 80, block IT, Leaning Rock district.—Consideration of tho application was deferred.

Mount Pisa.— A memo, was received from the Undersecretary for Lands intimating the surrender of license over Huns 2<llb, Ac., Mount Pisa station, had been npproved.— Tho board recommended that tho ruus be offered as one urn for a term of 21 years at the upset rental of £850, with valuation for improvements, £2207. The board considered tlint although the runs were carryiug 30,000 sheep, it was not expedient to subdivide them.

Table Hill.- David Shanks applied for section 53, block I, aud section 43 block VJ, Table Hill, district.— lt was resolved that the sections in question be recommended for notification at a capital value of 10s per acre.

Oxepopo. — John M.ickay applied to be allowed to give up a portion of the area over which ho was granted a provisional license to prospect for flate in the Otepopo district, and desired that his license^ be extended over about 40 chain 3 south of his present boundary. — It was resolvojl that the former liccn:e be cancelled, and a new provisional license granted for one year over 113 acres, at a rental of £1 per annum, with license fee, £1 Is. Ihe board adjourned until January 5.
