D.JI.A.C SPORTS. First Day — December 8. For the first time for many years the Dimedin Amateur Athletic Club has ventured upon ' extending its annual sports over two dayr. The support that was accorded to the club by those for whose ben&fib the Wednesday's sports were held was, however, not encouragiug, and the attendance was limited, bub this may have been in some degree due to the keen wind thab was blowing. The sporb was, however, fairly interesting, and some creditable performances were achieved, notably by W. V. KingstOD. R-jfeults :—: — j 100 yds Flat Handicap (Standard, 10 3 53ec).— T. W. The' six who had qualified started iv the final heat. Biiley beat the pistol, which in turn beat Kingston and Adams, and the latter p'xir, while they passed the others, could not catch Bailey, who led throtjghout. There was, however, a splendid finish 1 , Bailey, Adams, and Kingston biusting across the line like a flash in that order, with lass than a foot sepas-atiug one from the other. Time, lOniin. 58g cc. t, Second Day — December 11. The meeting was continued on Saturday on the Caledonian ground. The weather was lovely, and the attendance reached very fair dimensions. The sport was nob of a very interesting character during the afternoon, the fields being smaller than could bava been de•irod, and the crack memberß of the club hardly appearing at all on the track. W. F. Bennttt competed in one event only, the Mile Club Championship, and in thab he seemed to act only as pacemaker for his brother. At any rate, he was evidenbly a good deal off his racing condition.' W. V, Kingston, also, sbirtefl in one event ODly— the 250 ids Handicaj)— and in that any chance ho might have possessed was i destroyed through the fact thab he was driven up to the middle of the banked track in the ; endeavour to geb through. This event clearly i indioaled that in theeffiorb to satisfy the cycling club 3 with a track sufficiently banked to suit tho requirements of raciog cyclists the Caledoniau Society h*s sacrificed the usefulness of tho track for running events over short distances in which fields are fairly large. Price Syds. and R. Nichol 10yds ; time, 10 4-osec. Bennett, and Mackay following ia that order, a matter of half a dozen yards separating first from last, and that was the order at tha end of each of the first three quarters ot the mile. W. F. Bennett, who was evidently not quite wound up, was in seeming distress at the close of the first quatter-mile, which was accomplished in lmin 8 3-ssec, while the second was done in lmin 14 3-s,fcc, and the third in lmiu 15 4-sseo. When the lust lap was entered T. E. Bennett went to the front, followed by King and Mackay, AY". F. Bennett dropping back last, and 200 yards from home Mackay moved up, and caught and passed T. E. Bennett, who was not easily shaken oft", however, and pressed Mackay all the way to .the tape, the latter winning by four yards. W. F. Bennett struggled gamely on and just beat King for third place, 10 yards away. Time, 4min 45 2-53ec. Onh-milk Bicycle Handicap.— J. S. White, scr, 1 ; A. J. Sullivan, 30yJs, 2 ; R. S.
