Chbistchukch, December 16.
Tbe second of tbe present serif s of local wool sales was held to-day. There w«s the usual attendance of Home end foreign bnjera. The catalogue comprised 15,475 bales, of which about 10,0C0 (bHDgcd bands. The sale dragged all through, especially for inferior lotc, of which the bulk wag made up. Best merinos held their own well in comparison to the opening tale, But aft bt her good wools were a sh&de easier. Medium torts were down '^d, and inferior, which sold irregularly, from >^d to Id lower. Nearly all lotj passed at the previous sale suffered a decline of £d-to fd. Competition for scoured par eels was slack. The prices realised were :—^Medium to' good merino, 6£d to 7£d ; inferior do, 4^d to 45d ; best halfbred, 7d to 8d ; inferior to medium 4d to 6sd ; best crosebred, Yd to 7J3 ; inferior to medium, 4d to 6|d ; best longwool, 6d to 7d ; inferior to medium, 4£d to s|l ; pieces and bellies, 2d to 6d ; locks, Id to 3|d.
