.Chktstchcjbch, December 7. • Tfao twenty-fourth annual meeting of thi New Zealand shareholders of the New Zealsn/ Shipping Company was hold to-day. The report; *md b&lauco aheefc showed that, after providing for depreciation, insurance, London and colonial charges, the financial position would admit; of the payment .of a dividend of ♦ per cent, freo of income tax, and carrying fevward £5798 Ha 9d. The Chairman otated that the London Dock Company had agreed to erect a store fitted with refrigerating machinery, into which cargoes of frozen meat oouid b« discharged and aorted fop delivery to the va,riou« conaignefs. The o<nt of the store w&s esti-< moated afc £40,000. The Dock Comp»!.-y required a gnavantee 'of 20 per^ cent, on the capitfcl cost of the etore to cover working expenses acd depreciation. The New ZealandShipping Company were prepared to bear ita proportion of one-third, and all that was bow required \v#.s an intimation from the Goeeruiriftat and the freezing companies of their wilUtigneis to contribute one-third each of the gu*r*ntee, aud the erection of the utort would i>e comaienced without further del*y.
