The secretary of the Clyde Dredging Company (Limited) reports a return of 760z gince Saturday. The Roxburgh correspondent of the Tuapeka Times states that during last week the first deposit of £250 was made by the Beugerburn Gold Dredging Company for the Golden Run Dredging Company's dredge. Magnus aud party's small dredge, the Eureka, working opposite the township of Alexaodra, on the boundary of the Golden Bend. wa«hed up on Saturday, the 17th inst., getting 108oz for the week's work. The week previously they got sloz. This company being a private one. letums have not hitherto been n^ade public. We understand, however, that equally good results have been obtained for sorqe time past. A dividend of Is pf r share has been declared by the Otas;o Gold Dredging Company. An Auckland telegram state 3 that the Haurakt return is .£ 154(5 from 350 tons. Our Arrowtowu correspondent wires that the shortage of stone; pub through the battery at the Achilles mine, Skipper*, last week was owing to the severity of the weather and other difficulties and not to any scarcity of strne in the mine. The Dunedia Stock Exchange reports the following returns for la'-t week :— Golden Treasure Dredging Company, t>s£oz ; Otago Dredging Company, 220z 16iwt; Golden Gate Dredging Company, 16;->z for 8 days. The directors of the Clyde Dredging Company have (ieclarecl a dividend (the fourth) of £5 per share. A private wir* received in town yesterday f rom Alexandra South says: "G eat excitement in mining here. All workable river grouud from Alexandra to Coal Creek pegged out this morning."
