Notes from Roxburgh. (From Our Own Correspondent.)

July 12.— The Et trick dredge for five days' work last week won 21oz. Since sth June 113oz have lieen won, aud another dividend will no doubt be forth, coming shortly. The Roxburgh dredge washed up soz for three days' work. The Dunedin dredge is doing very well now that the river is low. The wash-up on Saturday, as cleaned by the manager, was 390z 9dwt. The retura for the previous week was 370z 18dwt 6gr. Ths Edina dredge has not been getting very satisfactory returns lately. There is a great depth of tailings on tbe ground to which the dredge was recently shifted. It was rumoured during the week that this dredge was going up the river, to prospect or work the claim belonging to Messrs Borland and Tubman, and situated a short distance above Roxburgh, below the Dunedin Dredging Company's claim. I hear that Mr Burton is likely to be appointed secretary of the Bengerburn Dredging Company," which will be floated shortly. The Pleasant Valley Gold-mining Company's last wash-up was soz 6dwt for six days' sluicing. The manager intends to wash up again in about a week's time. The Roxburgh Amalgamated Mining and Sluicing Company washed up for June for lOOoz lOgr. This return is expected to bo exceeded next month. Those sluicing claims lately suffering from shortness of water will be slightly benefited by the rain that fell intermittently from Thursday afternoon to Saturday. ' . " Mr Ewing'3 claim at Hercules Flat is looking well. A new uaddock is being taken out, and the plant is working satisfactorily. The manager intends to wash up on Saturday, 17th inst., when a fair return is expected On Friday, 16th inst., Mr Burton will sell at his auction rooms, Roxburgh, Sullivan's sluicing claim at the Horseshoe Bond.
