I . «<THBU, 9 ' Save Your Money. Spare Your Team. ♦ ■ ■ RECORD SALES. The tales at the Dunedin Winter Show constituted a teoord, and no implements received so much attention. Ploughs were sold to go worth, south, east, and west, and in the near , future no farmer will have far to go to see tho DUX at work, and relieve us of the expense of giving exhibition trials. Now is the time for careful farmers to secure good implements at I reasonable prices and to got a larger area under plough with smaller teams than they have eves been able to do before. Tho following testimonials speak for themselves :—: — COUCH AND CUTTY GRABS. Waimumu, Matauka, June 16, 1897. ' We have had an exhaustive trial of the now DUX Double-furrow Plough on the farm of Sir J. B. Humphries to-day in lea where the couch was particularly bad. Three horses were at first used, but to show its draught one was . afterwards removed. Tho plough was next moved to rush ground on the banks of the creek ; and next to * big bed of cutty grass, T?hioh it cut through like cheese. A final opiil in the stubble brought the trial to a close, the work throughout being Al. (Signed) W. F. Ward (president A. and P. Association), J. E. Humphries. (Mr Humphries bought the plough.) ALL IT IS REPRESENTED. Otiake, June 15, 1897. We have to-day Been the DUX Plough at work on Mr Donald Simpson's farm — first as a treble furrow, and afterwards with the third furrow removed. Tho ground was haTd and heavy stubble, aad we are quite satisfied that the work done was excellent, and that the Plough is all it is represented to be. (Signed) Donald Simpson, Jas. M'Gimpsey, John M'Caw, John Grant, Donald M'lnness, A. Simpson, Peter M 'Donald, G. Partridge, S. Hawtiiorne, W. G. Hille, J. Milmine, J. Cunningham. (Me Simpson bought tha plough.) EVERY CONFIDENCE. i Windsor Downs, June 16, 1897. We have this day attended a trial of the new DUX Treble-furrow Plough on Messrs M'G&w and Seth-Smith's estate, Hakateramea. The Plough, tried both as a. double and a treble furrow, did exoellent work in very hard ground — quite equal to the ordinary double furrow of other makers ; and the draught with the third f arrow added did not appear to exceed the pull of the locally-made double-furrow plough. We have every confidence in recommending this implement. (Signed) B. Seth-Smith, A. M'Oaw, Thomas Wilson, D. M'Kenzie, A. W. Wain, T. Milne, J. Downey. (This plough was kindly lent by Mr Simpson for the trial, the plough ordered by Messrs Orr and Co., with which the trial was to have been given, not arriving in time.) ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL TRIAL. LiNTiEr, June 29, 1897. ' We, the undersigned, have-this day witnessed a trial of tha new Dux Double-furrow Plough on the farm of Mr Shuttleworth, and" have ' pleasure in stating that the work done was I fatisfactory in every respect. ! (Signed) Andbkw Jamieson, Robert Reid, John Tresiddgr, Joseph Skuttleworth, Louie Walker, Henry J. Riddle, Tobias Vehcoe, Thomas Vercoe, J. W. Shuttle worth. (Mr Thomas Vercoe bought * plough.) STUBBLE AND OLD LEA. Table Hill, Milton, July 1, 1897. Be the Dux Double-furrow Plough I' gofc from you, it ib giving me every satisfaction — efficient at work, light in draught, ease in turning. I can work it from 9in to l4in in width — that is, 9iu, llin, and 13in wide— aiid up to Bin deep. I can recommend this plough for general work on either steep or flat land ; it turns and leaves tho ground well broken. I tried it on atubble and old lea. You can ues my name to this if you like. (Signed) H. H. Scott. SPLENDID LINES.
