Soon after Grassmere fell, and Bombastic rau to the front and began as pilot, his closest follower* being Eclipse aud Actress, with Larrikin and Zanonia handy, and Bernal in the rear. Bombastic was left in command for a considerable distance longer; but beginning the last part of the loug journey the leader had for company Zanouia, the nearest of the others being Eclipse, Actress, Riot, Doondiab, and Motala. while Larrikin was still battling away after the second division.
