Last year the want of hard frosts left the soil heavy and bad to work. ; , Fishing — The announcement that the fishing season has been extended till after the Easter holida3-s has been hailed with delight by fishermen in South Canterbury. Some good fishing is now to be had in the JLangitata, Opihi, and other large lively. A lccnl fishermi.n caught au 18po'uniier last week a'fc mouth of Milford Lagoon.
