DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. Weekly Report.

Messrs Wiugiit, Stewikxson, and Co. report as follows : — Saturday's sale was a marked contrast to that of tbe preceding week, the yard being almost empty, only some half-dozen country horses being forward, the 1 einainiDg few that were in belonging to dea'er?. The attendance, as was to be expected from the smallness of the supply, was very meagre, and only a small amount of business was done. Por the three and four-year-old draughts forward there was very brMt bidding ; for one gelding, an exceptionaliv good sori, but aged seven or eight years, by Herd Laddie, £32 was paid. There were a number of strancerß pre:ent wanting good draughts, and a. large business could "have been done had there been tuitable animals offered. Farmeis having good young draughts for sale are recommended to try this market. For hacks and harness horses there is not much demand, but anything good offering finds sale at quotations. A nice four-year-old pig horse, by Borderman. was sold to-day at £14 10d. Owing to the Easter holidays, there will be no sale until Saturday, 24th inst. We quote : First-class heavy young draughts at from £30 to £35 (extra heavy a pound or two more) ; medium, £22 to £27 ; aged, £15 to £20 ; hacks and strong carriage horses, £15 to £20 ; good spring-cart sorts, £11 to £15 ; light hacks, £7 to £10 ; inferior, £2 to £5.
