March I.— The drought still continues. Mining is at a standstill for want of water, and vegetation is a thing of the past. If a severe winter is experienced there will be great mortality amongst live stock. Cricket. — After putting up a record score against i^aseby lecently and then beating the Roxburgh team, the Blacks boys' are making anxious inquiiies as to the date the English team is likely to arrive in the colony. New Church.— The Presbyterian Church now being built here is to be opened on the 14th inst. The building is a neatly-designed one, and will be an ornament to the town. The building will be opened almost five of debt. ' i
