THE WEEKS MINING NEWS. The Hyde correspondent of the Taieri Advocate reports :— " There are several parties doing very well at the deep sinking which is being carried on near Hyde at present. Thomas and party sent a trial crushing of cement from their claim to be put through one of the batteriec. The stuff, which was principally forking* from which all free gold had been extracted, panned out 2oz to the ton. Bligo Bros finished a crushing of 33 tons last week for 21oz of retorted gold." The Dunstan Times publishes the following items:— The Ophir and Ind dredge washed up on the 28th ult. and secured 18Joz for the •week^s work. The result is extremely satisfactory, as it was not expected thac anything like the above would result until the dredge •worked its way higher up the stream.— The E'ectric dredge s,till continues to get large returns, although the exact figures are kept very quiet. It i<» known that they have had some exceptionally large returns lately.— The Golckn Beach • Company declared a dividend of £10 per sbare after their wash-up last week of 90 odd oz.— lt ia reported that between Soßoz and 10"Ooz of gold wet o sold ia Alexandra on tho 28th ult.— The Eureka No. 1 washed up 19oz and the Eureka No. 2 over lOOoz for the week's work.— The Manuherikia Company's cur/ent wheel dredge, which is working -about a mile above Alexandra, washed up on the 28th ult. 30oz for the week's wo*k. The Otagp Stock Exchange report the 112 th dividend of 6d in the Keep-it -Dark Gold Mining Company, Reef t«»n. "We learn from Mr F. Evane, manager of the Achilles Goldfields Company, that the return fur last month was 480oz gold. The directors of the Enterprise Gold Dredging Company declared a dividend of Is per share last week.
