Yet he of many climes and parts, Of southern frosts or northern flowere. Fain, for the honour it imparts, Would call his country ours. Careless are they who waste the spring To mow the daisies under feet, thinking that now where blossoms cling Shall be forever sweet.' ■Tis not till cruel winter's snow Has stripped its beauty from the tree Xhat grieving mortals learn to know The price that daisies be.
