The activity on Tongariro continued all last week. The scene is continually changing, and most interesfcißg outbursts are being witnessed, the best being seen from Taupo. One day it was Ketetahi, and the next it would be Te Mare, while Ngauruhoe maintained a fairly regular emission of white nteam ; but the other two were erratio, though it is from Te Mare that the real eruption, accompanied by dirt and smoke, comes. There is every appearance ol a fresh outlet above Te Mare. A party of tourists .intend ascending the mountain this wesk, and their guide will examine tho locality and report any material ohange or alteration. j Rotohoa, November 30. One iron sailing vesssel of 443 tons and 24 wood and 'composite with 10,788 tons were broken up and condemned. Two steel vessels with 4762 tons, 1 iron of 1599 tons, and 4 wood and composite wittt 3165 tona were burnt. Two iron vessels with 2077 tontr, r and, 7' wood and composite with 2009 tons were rloß,fbyr loB,fby collision,' Two wood and composite vessels with 678 tdns foundered, land 1 Wooden vessel of 819 tons; tho barque 'David, is put down a§ lost. The .vessels posted during tho quarter as missing were 2 steel with 1287 ton», 3 iron with 3259 tons, and 7 wood and composite with V>** tons ; •while- 3 steel vessels with 2015 tone, 7 * ran , w , i , t .5 8546 tons, and 38 wood and compoeit&'witli 16,043 tons are returned as wreoked.'
