AN ASTOUJSfDLNG' STATEMENT. Adelaide. November 26. At the hospital inquiry, Dr Corbin, while under examination with reference to an operation performed by Dr Napier, was asked by the chief secretary wby be did not suggest that a certain course be taken, and if he did not think he should have interfered in the interests of humanity. Dr Oorbin replied that be was so disgusted and thought the greatest good to the greatest number was far more to be considered. He did not interfere, because he hoped Dr NapJer would kill the patient and so damn himself for ever. He thought if one case could raise tbe indignation of the sluggish public many oases might be saved.
