Mr Skene reports under date December 1:— The new month begins with fair promise of fine settled weather. A month of sunshine now will be a great boon for the wool interest. There is a big hurry now for all departments of station work — musterers, cooks, Bhearers, <fee. "Wages vary so much that it is impossible to give a fixed rate. Holidays have been all the go of late, and there are more to face this week. Friday will be the day of days, deciding our fate and happiness for a few years. God grant us honest representatives.
The Auckland Ladies' Benevolent Society held a floral fete'oT carnival of flowers on Saturday at Bllenlie racecourse. There were about 50 classes for competition, uin addition to a children's procession, exhibits, a muiicil bicycle tide, a flight of 500 homing pigeons, and a bioycle procession. lb is stated that there were 15,000 on the ground, the largest outdoor gatherisg ever seen in Auokland.
