DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. Weekly Report.
Messrs .Wihgjit, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows :— At Saturday's sale the entries were nearly all thoroughbred and light harness horses. There was a fair attendance of buyers and a number of horses changed hands at satisfactory prices. We sold several thoroughbred colts and fillies two, three, and four years, all by Cfatainshot, Burlington, St. CJair, Ironworker, and King Harold at prices slightly in favour of the buyers. There were some splendid dogcart horses offered, and for these there was a moderate demand and several found buyers at good prices. Springcarters were fairly well represented, there being some horses of very gootl quality submitted for sale. The demand for this class still remains brisk, and we have no difficulty in disposing at quotations. Light and weedy hacks find little inquiry, there being practically no demand for them. We quote : First - class heavy ' young draughts at from £28 to £33 ; medium, £20 to j225; aged, £15 to £19; good hacks and .strong carriage horses, £15 to £20; spring cart sorts, £11 to £15 ; light hacks, £7 to £10 ; inferior, £2 to £5.
